Paloma Bruce Singing Studio has moved back to Wellington! Paloma looks forward to seeing her current and new pupils at her studio in Brooklyn, Wellington.

♦ Paloma ran a vocal workshop at the Rata School of Music in Wellington. The Rata School of Music is a new music conservatoire running on Saturdays and Mondays at the Creative & Performing Arts Centre at Scots College, Strathmore, Wellington.

♦ Paloma has now returned to teaching in Wellington, New Zealand and is looking forward to teaching the next generation of singers.

♦ Paloma performed the role of 'Lucy' in Menotti's 'The Telephone' as well as 'Julia' in the play 'Cycle' by Norland with Opera Anywhere and Irrational Theatre at The Maltings Theatre in St. Albans.

♦ Paloma will be playing the role of Mabel in Opera Anywhere's new production of G&S's The Pirates of Penzance! A truly hilarious production, it will open in the famous Norrington Room at Blackwell's Bookshop in Oxford. Paloma will be performing on May the 31st and June the 1st. Don't miss it!

♦ Paloma is pleased to announce that she will be playing the role of 'Berta' in Opera Lyrica's performance of Rossini's 'Il Barbiere di Siviglia' in Oxford during May 2013. The cast is quite international with performers from Hong Kong, Iceland, Russia, Romania and Spain!

♦ On the 2nd of February Opera Anywhere had it's debut performance at The Colston Hall, Bristol with the Gurt Lush Choir and Bristol School's Philharmonia. This was such a huge success that another performance of The Mikado with the Gurt Lush Choir and BSP will be performed in June 2013 in Cheltenham. Visit Opera Anywhere's website to purchase tickets.

♦ Paloma is performing the role of 'Yum Yum' in Gilbert & Sullivan's 'The Mikado' 2012-2014 UK tour for Opera Anywhere. The first performance was on 12th May 2012 which was a fundraising concert performance in Proms style for the 'Gulshat Fund'. Paloma has subsequently performed the role on tour in the Sunningwell Festival, Oxfordshire, at the Said Business School ampitheatre in Oxford, in Stroud, in The Colston Hall in Bristol and in Shrivenham.

♦ Paloma has been busy rehearsing for a new Operatic-Crossover Duo which will be coming on the UK scene soon! We will be available for performing at various types of private functions and public events with a wide variety of repertoire to entertain all ages.

♦ Paloma recently debuted in the role of 'Adele' in J. Strauss' 'Die Fledermaus' in an ENO translation with Surrey Opera in Redhill and at the famous Minack Theatre on the cliffs at Porthcurno, Cornwall.

♦ Paloma debuted as 'Violetta' in The Merry Opera Company's 2012 production of Verdi's 'La Traviata' directed and translated by Kit Hesketh-Harvey after covering the role during their UK 2012 tour. There was a highly acclaimed run of performances during February 2012 at Upstairs in the Gatehouse, Highgate, London, and on tour in the UK as well as Malaysia. The production has also been nominated for an Off-West End Theatre award!

♦ Paloma recently performed the role of 'Frasquita' in Bizet's 'Carmen' with Heritage Opera on their North-West UK Tour. The final performance was Heritage Opera's first performance with the Lancashire Sinfonietta in the Accrington Town Hall - a great success! This was Paloma's second time performing with Heritage Opera after creating the role of 'Julia Bertram' in the world premiere of Jonathan Dove's opera 'Mansfield Park'.

♦ After previously singing the title role of 'Helen of Troy' at short notice, Paloma performed the role for The Merry Opera Company's Autumn tour of 'Troy Boy' (Offenbach's 'La Belle Helene')- translated and directed by Kit Hesketh-Harvey.

♦ The sold out London Premiere of Jonathan Dove's opera 'Mansfield Park' had outstanding success with standing ovations, numerous curtain calls and a 5-star review in the London Evening Standard! The review praised 'Heritage Opera's witty, brilliantly inventive Mansfield Park' with 'an impeccable 10-strong cast'. Paloma created the role of 'Julia Bertram' in the world premiere of the opera inspired by Jane Austen's famous novel of the same name (with the libretto written by the brilliant Alasdair Middleton).

♦ Paloma took part in a 3-day Masterclass/workshop and public concert with David Syrus (Head of Music at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden) in Brecon, Wales. She performed 'Konstanza' in the quartet from Mozart's 'Die Entführung aus dem Serail' and 'Frasquita' in the quintet from Bizet's 'Carmen'. theatrbrycheiniog
